Study: Cat ownership doesn’t cause mental illness in young people

Exposure to cats does not cause children to develop mental health problems in adolescence, according to findings published online in Psychological Medicine. “Previous studies reporting links between cat ownership and psychosis simply failed to adequately control for other possible explanations,” said Francesca Solmi, lead author of the study.
